SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) – Syracuse University men’s basketball coach Jim Boeheim was greeted by another loud ovation before his fourth-ranked Orange met No. 10 Florida, with former star Carmelo Anthony in a front-row seat.
Boeheim, who received a mild welcome when he first strolled onto the court that bears his name, waved off the applause after he was introduced.
Three men, including two former Syracuse ballboys, have accused former associate head coach Bernie Fine of molesting them as minors. Fine, who was fired Sunday, has denied the allegations.
The student section was jammed as a crowd of more than 23,000 was expected.
