BUIES CREEK, N.C. (AP) -Lorne Merthie scored 23 points, including 7 3-pointers, and Junard Hartley had a double-double as Campbell cruised to a 77-64 win over Johnson C. Smith on Monday night.
Hartley had 12 points and 12 assists, one shy of his career high, while Marvelle Harris added 16 points, eight rebounds and four blocks and Preston Dodson grabbed 11 boards.
Campbell (4-3) never trailed, leading the Division II Golden Bulls (2-3) by as many as 16 in the first half before taking a 40-33 lead into the break.
The Camels widened the lead to 55-38 on a Merthie 3-pointer with 15:14 left. Johnson C. Smith got no closer than 11 the rest of the way as Campbell won its fourth game in the last five.
The Camels outscored the Golden Bulls 40-16 in the paint, although Johnson C. Smith won the battle of the boards 37-35.
Ronald Thornhill led Johnson C. Smith with 18 points and James Otey had 14.
