LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (AP) -Ryan Thompson had 20 points and six rebounds to lead Rider to an 84-58 win over the New Jersey Institute of Technology on Wednesday. Jason Thompson, Ryan's older brother, added 17 points, 17 rebounds and four blocked shots for the Broncs (4-3), while Harris Mansell scored 15 points. Nesho Milosevic had 14 points and six rebounds to lead the Highlanders (0-7), while Justin Garris added 13 points - including three 3-pointers. Rider was in control for most of the game, jumping out to an early 17-7 lead and taking a 33-24 lead at the break. The Broncs then put the game away early in the second half with an 11-2 run, including six points by Jason Thompson. Rider also had a strong defensive performance, outrebounding NJIT 45-31 and holding the Highlanders to just 38.3 percent from the floor. |
