BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) -Bobby Howard scored 24 points, Erik Rush added 19 and Montana State scored the first 12 points of the second half to break open a close game and cruise to a 92-67 victory over Minot State on Friday night in the Bobcats’ home opener.
Jourdain Allou had eight points and 11 rebounds for Montana State (3-1), which led 46-40 at halftime over the Beavers of NAIA Division II.
The Bobcats had two 3-point baskets and a three-point play while sprinting to a 58-40 lead with 15:44 remaining. The margin never dropped below nine after that.
Nathaniel Packineau led Minot State with 14 points, and Anthony Enriquez and Kal Bay added 11 apiece. The game was an exhibition for the Beavers (2-3), who are on a five-game swing through Montana.
