INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -Adding three more teams to the NCAA tournament won’t make things any easier.
It could actually make the decisions more complicated.
Selection committee chairman Gene Smith said Wednesday that his group will follow the same rules and procedures used in the past – and that not everyone will be happy on Selection Sunday.
Smith told reporters the committee’s evaluation process has already begun. He also says he an opening day college basketball event would be good for the game – something Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski and Butler coach Brad Stevens also support.
Duke and Butler played in last season’s national championship.
The two coaches also oppose the elimination of summer recruiting.
