AMES, Iowa (AP)Craig Brackins scored 18 points and Iowa State they beat Wisconsin-Milwaukee 79-61 in the conclusion of the World Vision Classic on Sunday.
Diante Garrett scored 17 points and had nine rebounds for Iowa State. Bryan Petersen added 10 points and six assists for the Cyclones (3-0).
Garrett hit four consecutive baskets from the field, including 3 3-pointers, to give the Cyclones an early lead. At the half, Iowa State was ahead 41-31 and Garrett had 12 points.
The Panthers (2-1) came within 58-54 after James Eayers found a 3 and Anthony Hill scored from the paint. Petersen answered with a 3-pointer that spurred a 15-3 run, and a pair of 3s from Jamie Vanderbeken highlighted a spurt to give Iowa State a 75-57 lead.
Ricky Franklin scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds for Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
