LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) -Nick Okorie scored 16 points in his debut as a Red Raider to lead Texas Tech to a 81-47 victory over Saint Francis on Friday.
The Red Raiders started the game slowly, allowing the Red Flash to take a 13-12 lead in the early stages. But Texas Tech opened the second half with a 21-9 run.
Texas Tech also had solid contributions from forward Trevor Cook, who scored 10 points in the first half, and John Roberson, who added 13 points.
Devin Sweetney and Marquis Ford led the Red Flash with 11 points each. Saint Francis had 23 points in the second half.
The win opened Pat Knight's first full season as Texas Tech's coach. His father Bob Knight resigned in February. The younger Knight went 4-7 to finish the season.
