BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (AP) -Grayson Flittner scored 25 points, Thomas Sanders added 24 and Gardner-Webb avoided a letdown by beating North Greenville 99-74 on Tuesday night.
Sanders also had 11 rebounds for the Runnin’ Bulldogs (3-0), who played their first game since their monumental 84-68 rout of Kentucky at Rupp Arena in the quarterfinals of the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic. Now, they face a busy few days – they play Connecticut on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden, the first of two matchups with the Huskies in a six-day span.
They’re also scheduled to face either Memphis or Oklahoma on Friday night, then have a road game at Radford on Saturday.
Nathan Wilson scored 26 points to lead Division II North Greenville (0-2), which outrebounded the Runnin’ Bulldogs 51-49 but couldn’t overcome 20 turnovers.
