WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) -L.D. Williams scored 15 of his 22 points in the first half and No. 21 Wake Forest beat Mount Olive 97-62 in an exhibition Thursday night.
Wake Forest broke a 14-14 tie with a 28-0 run during which eight players scored.
Al-Farouq Aminu had 15 points and 12 rebounds and fellow freshman Tony Woods added 15 points for Wake Forest, while sophomore guard Jeff Teague had 12 assists.
The Demon Deacons held a 54-30 halftime lead, bolstered by 23-for-39 shooting from the field and 10 offensive rebounds.
Wake Forest played without sophomore forward James Johnson, who sat out for an undisclosed violation of team rules. Johnson, who led the team in scoring last season, will be available for the Nov. 14 opener against North Carolina Central, coach Dino Gaudio said.
15 points for Division II Mount Olive, while Mike Holloman added 11.
