MADISON, Wis. (AP) – Ryan Evans scored 16 points and Ben Brust added 14 to help No. 15 Wisconsin beat Wisconsin-Stevens Point 80-54 in an exhibition game Saturday night.
It was the first meeting since 1933 between the Badgers and Pointers, who won the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference last season and are favored to do so again this season.
Preseason All-America Jordan Taylor added eight points and seven assists for the Badgers, who open the regular season next Saturday against Kennesaw State.
The Badgers raced out to a 14-2 lead and led by double figures most of the rest of the way. The biggest cheers of the night from the sparse crowd at the Kohl Center were when Wisconsin’s 62-17 football victory over Purdue earlier in the day was put on the scoreboard and for Evans’ alley-oop dunk on a pass from Taylor with 6:20 left.
Senior Dan Tillema had a game-high 24 points for Stevens Point.
