INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Shelvin Mack scored 13 points and Matt Howard had 12 points and 10 rebounds Thursday night to lead No. 17 Butler to an 80-41 exhibition victory over Hanover.
It was the Bulldogs’ final tuneup before opening regular-season play Nov. 13 against nearby Marian. The national runners-up plan to unveil their Final Four banner before tip-off that afternoon.
Drake Hendricks had seven points for Hanover, a Division III school about 80 miles south-southeast of Indianapolis.
The Bulldogs overwhelmed the Panthers with their size and speed.
Howard had 10 points and seven rebounds in 14 minutes of the first half as Butler built a 27-point lead. It extended the lead to as much as 39 in the second half.
