North Carolina forward Tyler Hansbrough is the leading vote-getter on The Associated Press’ preseason All-America team for the third straight season. For the first time, he is a unanimous selection.
The 6-foot-9 senior is the reigning national player of the year. He was joined on the team Monday by UCLA guard Darren Collison, also a repeat from last year’s preseason team.
Completing the first team are Davidson guard Stephen Curry, Notre Dame forward Luke Harangody and Oklahoma forward Blake Griffin.
Hansbrough was placed on all 72 ballots from the same media panel that selects the weekly Top 25. He missed being a unanimous pick last season by one vote. He fell seven votes shorts as a sophomore.
The last unanimous preseason pick was Duke guard Jason Williams in 2001-02.
