CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) – Center Mike Tisdale scored 21 points to lead No. 13 Illinois to a 76-67 exhibition victory over Southern Indiana on Tuesday night.
Tisdale scored 12 points and guard D.J. Richardson added eight, including two 3-pointers, for the Illini as they took a 41-32 halftime lead.
Southern Indiana opened the second half on an 8-0 run, cutting Illinois’ lead to one. The Screaming Eagles tied the game at 47 with 14:14 to play on a dunk by C.J. Trotter, but the Illini picked it up on the offensive end and were too strong inside for Division II Southern Indiana.
Trotter led Southern Indiana with 19 points, 15 in the second half.
