BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) – The Indiana Hoosiers are tired of losing.
After enduring three straight losing seasons, coach Tom Crean will start this year with his strongest cast yet.
Juniors Christian Watford and Jordan Hulls and senior Verdell Jones are all back to lead the offense. Freshman center Cody Zeller will be the most talented big man Crean has had in his four-year tenure, and for the first time, Crean will have significant depth, too.
But winning in the rugged Big Ten won’t be easy, especially now that Indiana has lost junior guard Maurice Creek yet again, this time to a torn Achilles tendon that could keep him out all season.
Indiana opens the regular season Nov. 11 at home against Stony Brook.
