ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -UCLA will play Davidson in the 14th annual John R. Wooden Classic basketball doubleheader in December.
The Dec. 8 game will be the first meeting between the teams since 1975, when UCLA won 91-64 at Pauley Pavilion in the season Wooden retired.
The Bruins will be making their fifth consecutive appearance and 11th overall. They have a 7-3 record in the event. UCLA made its second straight Final Four appearance last season.
Davidson has played in two consecutive NCAA tournaments and had a school-record 29 wins last season.
In the day’s first game, San Diego State and Saint Mary’s will play each other in the schools’ first appearances in the event.
Last season, San Diego State reached the second round of the NIT.
