 HONOLULU (AP) -Seven of the eight teams that will participate in the inaugural Diamond Head Classic in December have been announced.
They are: host Hawaii, Southern California, SMU, College of Charleston, Saint Mary's, UNLV and Western Michigan. The last team is yet to be determined.
Four of the teams are coming off postseason appearances with USC playing in the NCAA tournament. UNLV and Saint Mary's were in the National Invitation Tournament and College of Charleston in the College Basketball Invitational.
The Diamond Head Classic will be played Dec. 22, 23 and 25. The announcement was made by ESPN Regional Television, which owns the tournament.
