AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -All-American point guard D.J. Augustin says he is leaving Texas after two seasons to turn pro.
He said Wednesday that he has long dreamed of playing in the NBA and that he is “ready to start living this dream.”
Augustin averaged 19.2 points and 5.8 assists to lead Texas to one of the best seasons in school history.
The Longhorns won a school-record 31 games, a share of the Big 12 regular season championship and advanced to the NCAA regional finals before losing to Memphis. Augustin won the Bob Cousy Award as college basketball’s top point guard.
