KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -University of Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl says point guard Melvin Goins from Mt. San Jacinto College has signed a national letter of intent to play for UT.
Goins played his freshman year at Ball State University before switching to the California school. Pearl says Goins is expected to enroll at Tennessee this summer and play in the 2009-2010 season for the Volunteers.
While at Ball State, Goins averaged 8.0 points and 3.0 rebounds. He played in 30 games with 26 starts.
