WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) -Wake Forest sophomore forward James Johnson has declared for the NBA draft and hired an agent.
A spokesman for Wasserman Media Group says Thursday that Johnson has signed with their agency and will be represented by Dan Tobin. That means Johnson will not be able to return to play for the school.
The 6-foot-9 Johnson was the top rebounder with 8.5 per game and second on the team in scoring at 15.8 points. He’s been projected to be a first-round pick in most mock drafts.
Wake Forest guard Jeff Teague also declared for the draft this week, but did not hire an agent. Coach Dino Gaudio believes Teague will return for his junior season.
Forward Al-Farouq Aminu is returning to Wake Forest for his sophomore season.
