PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) – Rutgers basketball coach Fred Hill is being investigated by the university for a reported outburst during a Scarlet Knights baseball game last week.
Athletic Director Tim Pernetti said in a statement the accounts of the coach’s actions at a game last week against Pitt are “very concerning.”
The investigation was first reported by the Home News Tribune of East Brunswick.
The paper said Hill yelled obscenities at Pitt coach Joe Jordano after Jordano protested an umpire’s ruling.
Hill did not immediately return a call on Tuesday.
Hill’s father, also named Fred Hill, is the baseball coach at Rutgers.
A Pitt athletic department spokeswoman said Jordano did not want to talk about the incident.
