STORRS, Conn. (AP) – Fans who were celebrating UConn’s national championship were causing minor property damage in Storrs.
A couch was set on fire and a car was overturned at an apartment complex off campus Monday night. A crowd of several dozen had gathered, and some were throwing bottles at police officers. Police were using dogs to disband the crowd.
Authorities say that arrests were made, but it’s not clear how many people were taken into custody nor what they were charged with.
There were no immediate reports of trouble on campus, though police were questioning students after a firework exploded on the ground outside the student union. No one was injured.
