KENT, Ohio (AP) -Geno Ford has moved down a few seats and into Kent State’s top chair.
He was hired as the Golden Flashes’ coach Tuesday. He replaces Jim Christian, who resigned last week after six seasons and is heading to TCU. Ford was an assistant during part of Kent State’s 10-year run of 20-win seasons.
A former star in the Mid-American Conference, Ford was an assistant for four seasons on Christian’s staff. His was a head coach in the NAIA and Division III.
The Golden Flashes went 28-7 this season and earned their fifth NCAA bid in 10 years. They were eliminated in the first round by UNLV.
