HOUSTON (AP) -Memphis guard Derrick Rose left Friday night's game against Michigan State in the second half with a cut on his head.
Rose didn't appear to realize he was injured until a teammate alerted the officials that blood was trickling down the side of the freshman's face.
The South Regional semifinal was stopped and Rose was taken to the locker room holding a towel to the right side of his forehead. He returned to the game with about 8 1/2 minutes left with a bandage over his right eye.
