INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Butler’s fans have embraced the school’s postseason version of Midnight Madness.
On Saturday, for the second straight year, hundreds of Bulldogs fans were waiting at Hinkle Fieldhouse to greet a team headed to the Final Four.
Hours earlier, eighth-seeded Butler knocked off second-seeded Florida 74-71 in overtime to become the first Indiana school to reach back-to-back Final Fours.
Fans braved chilly temperatures, brisk winds and even possible snow before moving inside the historic arena where they waited for the team.
Some acknowledged their Final Four gear was suddenly fashionable again, though they’re hoping last year’s national runner-up team can bring home the national title this year.
