The season of changing No. 1s ends with Louisville on top for the first time in school history.
The Cardinals, the overall top seed in the NCAA tournament, took advantage of a conference tournament week full of upsets to move from fifth to first in The Associated Press poll on Monday. Louisville swept the regular-season and tournament titles in the Big East.
This is the ninth time this season the No. 1 spot changed hands among six teams, all from either the Big East or Atlantic Coast Conference.
North Carolina, which lost to Florida State in the ACC semifinals, dropped one spot to second. Memphis, which has won 25 consecutive games, moved up one place to third, while Pittsburgh and Connecticut, both quarterfinal losers in the Big East, dropped two spots each to fourth and fifth.
