CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Austin Peay has announced that Dave Loos will return for a 26th season in 2015-16.
Loos, who will turn 68 years old on Thursday, headed into Saturday’s season finale at Southeast Missouri owning a 473-425 overall record in 29 seasons as a head coach, including a 391-372 mark at Austin Peay that makes him the winningest coach in Ohio Valley Conference history.
The Governors are 8-21 this season with a 3-12 conference mark that prevented them from qualifying for the Ohio Valley tournament. This marks Austin Peay’s fourth straight losing season.
In a university release Saturday, athletic director Derek van der Merwe said that ”I have the utmost confidence in him and he has my full support.”
Loos was Austin Peay’s athletic director from April 1997 to July 2013.
