KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl holds his breath a bit while his Volunteers practice.
Any bump knocking a player to the court, wayward elbow or rolled ankle is all Pearl needs to further hurt the depth on a team struggling with departures, injuries and slumps.
It means Pearl once again must shuffle his lineup if the No. 20 Vols (18-6, 6-4) are to survive the rest of their Southeastern Conference schedule.
Brian Williams has practiced with the team for less than two weeks since his nine-game suspension ended. But Pearl may look to him for help if fellow center Wayne Chism is unable to play because of ankle and hip injuries.
The coach also plans to put his two hottest players, point guards Melvin Goins and Bobby Maze, on the court together at times.
