STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -Former Oklahoma State basketball coach Sean Sutton has pleaded not guilty to four felony counts.
Sutton’s attorney, Trace Morgan, entered the plea Tuesday during a hearing in Payne County District Court. Morgan told the judge that Sutton was in a treatment center in Tulsa and could not appear.
The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs says Sutton was arrested last Thursday after picking up a shipment of painkillers under another person’s name.
Prosecutors have charged him with obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud and unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance without a prescription. He’s also charged with attempted possession of controlled dangerous substances and use of a communications device to facilitate a felony.
