The Seahawks (16-10, 9-5 Colonial Athletic Association), shot 50 percent from the field, including 41 percent from 3-point range. UNC-Wilmington outrebounded the Tribe 41-29 and limited its opponent to 38.7 percent field goal shooting.
Mary (13-11, 9-5) tie the score at 23 with 6:05 left before the half. Montez Downey rebounded a miss and connected on a 3-pointer with 5:08 left to give the Seahawks the lead for good.
UNC-Wilmington led 37-28 at the break and was up by no less than eight points throughout the second half.
Chad Tomko added 14 for UNC-Wilmington. Todd Hendley had 11 and Vladimir Kuljanin grabbed 19 rebounds to go with his 10 points for the Seahawks.
mner had 14, Peter Stein scored 12 and Nathan Mann 11 for the Tribe.
