MILWAUKEE (AP) – Jordan Taylor, Jon Leuer and the rest of No. 13 Wisconsin saw firsthand how difficult it was to beat undefeated No. 1 Ohio State – in football.
Now, the basketball version of the Badgers (18-5, 8-3 Big Ten) come into Saturday’s contest against the 24-0 Buckeyes in Madison with a game plan that sounds pretty similar: start fast and keep the intensity high.
The atmosphere shouldn’t be a problem. The always sold-out Kohl Center will be rocking as Wisconsin looks to knock off No. 1 for the only the second time in men’s basketball after doing it to Ohio State in 1962.
If Wisconsin succeeds, it will join Florida as the only programs to knock off the same No. 1 school in football and men’s basketball in the same academic year. The Gators did it to the Buckeyes, too, in 2007-08.
