SEATTLE (AP) – Funny how being 7-2 and tied for first place can seem like a slight disappointment through the first round of conference play.
That seems to be the case for No. 20 Washington.
The Huskies (15-5) were the class of the Pac-10 through the first nine games, yet find themselves starting the second half of the conference season on Thursday night at Oregon State tied with Arizona on top of the league standings.
While the Huskies would rather be undefeated – and likely could be if not for a second-half collapse at Stanford and poor defense at Washington State – they seem content with their place knowing that five of their last seven conference games will come at home.
