DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -Jamar Briscoe scored 21 points to lead North Carolina Central to its second win of the season, a 74-68 victory over Central State of Ohio on Friday night.
The Eagles (2-18) started the season 0-18 and have now won two games in a row. N.C. Central defeated Texas-Pan American 77-71 Wednesday.
The Eagles and Marauders (10-6), an NCAA Division II team, were tied at 32 at halftime in the BC Powder Classic.
The Eagles never trailed in the second half while making 11 of 26 field goals (42.3 percent) compared to 16-of-31 shooting (51.6 percent) for the Marauders. But N.C. Central hit 16 of 20 free throws (80 percent) after the break while Central State was only 4-for-7.
assists for the Eagles, Nick Chasten had 13 points and Vincent Davis chipped in 12.
Cole Prophet led the Marauders with 16 points.
