LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) -Anthony Smith scored 20 points and Liberty opened the second half with a 29-7 run Tuesday night in an 84-45 victory against Kentucky Christian.
The Flames (8-7) already led 45-30 after shooting 62 percent in the first half, then never let up. Liberty outscored Kentucky Christian 39-15 in the second half.
Kentucky Christian (10-8) got 13 points from Kalen Jones and 12 from Matt Hackenberg, but the pair shot a combined 9-for-34. The team finished at barely 25 percent on 16-for-63 shooting from the field and was outrebound 59-22.
Alex McLean added 16 points and 17 rebounds, Jeremy Anderson scored 11 and TeeJay Bannister had 13 assists for the Flames, who led by as many as 42.
