FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) - Shane Gibson scored a game-high 28 points, including the game-clinching free throws, as Sacred Heart beat St. Francis (N.Y.) 66-65 Saturday in a Northeast Conference showdown.
Justin Swidowski added 14 points, and Phil Gaetano chipped in 11 points and nine assists for Sacred Heart (4-9, 2-0).
Following Ben Mockford's 3-pointer that put the Terriers ahead 65-62 at the 2:37 left to play, Gibson's layup with 1:09 remaining cut the lead to just one, 65-64.

Sacred Heart answered with a 12-1 run to tie the game at 47. Swidowski scored 10 points during the stretch, including seven straight.
