DENVER (AP) -Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin received some good news Monday when an MRI on his surgically repaired right knee found only a bone bruise.
Martin is listed as doubtful for Wednesday night’s game against Indiana and will be day to day after that.
The Nuggets could ill afford to have Martin out for an extended period. Forward Nene is out for several more weeks with a thumb injury and coach George Karl already has been forced to use creative lineups to make up for a rash of injuries at guard.
Martin, who has missed 106 games the last two seasons because of microfracture surgeries on both knees, was hurt Saturday night at Houston and sat out the second half.
He’s averaging 8.6 points and 4.9 rebounds this season.
