MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Chase Budinger has rejoined his Minnesota Timberwolves teammates for light workouts at practice while he works his surgically repaired left knee back into shape.
Budinger likely remains a month or more from playing in games after offseason surgery to remove a portion of the meniscus in his knee. Budinger was doing some individual shooting drills after practice on Monday. He says he's not putting a specific timetable on his return, only that he's taking things ''week by week.''
Budinger signed a three-year, $16 million contract in July. But while he was working out in August to prepare for the season, he re-injured the same knee that kept him out for four months last year.
Budinger says he's making good progress and trying to stay positive.
