MIAMI (AP) – Minnesota forward Michael Beasley was helped to the locker room with 8:10 left in the second quarter of the Timberwolves’ game against the Miami Heat on Tuesday night after taking a hard fall while driving to the basket.
Beasley was challenged at the rim by Miami’s Chris Bosh and landed awkwardly, immediately grabbing his left hip. Beasley got up, took a few steps, then went to the floor again in obvious pain.
He scored on the play and a foul was called on James Jones, but Beasley was unable to remain on the floor to shoot the free throw, which was eventually taken by Kosta Koufos.
It was Beasley’s first game back in Miami since being traded to Minnesota in July. He had 11 points in 10 minutes.
