MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -The Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday exercised the third-year option on guard Randy Foye and the fourth-year option on guard Rashad McCants.
“We expect both Randy and Rashad to be a big part of our future,” said Kevin McHale, vice president of basketball operations.
Foye, a second-year player from Villanova, earned NBA All-Rookie first-team honors in 2006-07. He was the seventh overall pick of the 2006 NBA draft and played in all 82 games for the Wolves, starting 12. He averaged 15.4 points.
McCants averaged 7.9 points and 1.8 rebounds in 79 games as a rookie. The 6-4 guard set a team franchise rookie record for 3-point field goal percentage at 37.2 percent.
