DENVER (AP) -Mehmet Okur hobbled to the locker room with a left leg injury 24 seconds into the game after the Utah Jazz center tried to draw a charge on Nene in the season opener against the Denver Nuggets.
Okur stayed on the ground for a few minutes Wednesday night, clutching his left leg. He gingerly hopped to the bench before heading off the floor.
The Jazz were already short-handed as Matt Harpring (ankle, knee), C.J. Miles (left thumb) and Kyle Korver (left knee) were not with the team for the game.
Okur attempted to get in the path of Nene as he barreled in for a layup, but was called for the foul. Nene made the basket and the free throw to complete a three-point play.
