BOSTON (AP) – Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers will not be on the bench for Wednesday’s game against the New Jersey Nets, three days after a throat biopsy came back negative.
Rivers said the reason was his doctor didn’t want him raising his voice until Friday. He said he’d watch the game from the locker room.
On Sunday morning, he had a spot looked at that came back negative.
Rivers said assistant coach Lawrence Frank would run the team.
