SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -The Sacramento Kings exercised their contract option Thursday on center Spencer Hawes for the 2009-10 season.
Hawes, the 10th overall pick out of Washington in the 2007 draft, averaged 4.7 points and 3.2 rebounds as a rookie last season. He is expected to back up Brad Miller this season.
Hawes will make about $2.18 million this season, and more than $2.33 million in 2009-10.
