MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins was fined $25,000 by the NBA on Wednesday for comments about officiating made earlier this week.
The comments came after his teams 102-83 loss to Orlando on Monday night and came when someone asked the Memphis coach about rookie Hasheem Thabeets time on the court with Magic All-Star center Dwight Howard.
“Dwight Howard’s a great player and Thabeet didn’t get a fair share of the calls right from the start of the game,” Hollins was quoted as saying in an Orlando Sentinel story. “It’s not Dwight Howard against Thabeet – it’s us against the Orlando Magic.”
