INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -The Indiana Pacers will be without several key players when they host Chicago in their preseason opener Friday night.
The Pacers, who finished 36-46 last season and missed the playoffs for the third straight year, are expected to play without starter Mike Dunleavy (knee), first-round draft pick Tyler Hansbrough (shin), backup guard Travis Diener (toe) and free agent guard Earl Watson (personal reasons).
Starting forward Troy Murphy is listed as questionable with a sprained left ankle.
Coach Jim O’Brien didn’t announce his starting lineup for Friday, but All-Star forward Danny Granger and point guard T.J. Ford are expected to highlight the first unit.
