LONDON (AP) – Corey Brewer wasn’t in position to do much sightseeing or mentoring the first time he went to London with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
He’s looking to do plenty of both this time around.
The Timberwolves return to England this weekend at the start of the NBA Europe Live preseason tour. Brewer is one of only two holdovers from the team that lost to the Boston Celtics in 2007.
The 24-year-old Brewer was a rookie that time. Now, he’s one of the veterans on the league’s youngest team and hopes to provide some leadership on a trip he considers the perfect bonding exercise.
Brewer says in a phone interview that he feels he has “a bigger role as a leader. But that’s not a bad thing, it’s a good thing.”
Minnesota plays the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday.
