MANKATO, Minn. (AP) – Glen Taylor wants to see the Minnesota Timberwolves become winners again. And he plans to be the owner who makes it happen.
Taylor says he has the desire and the financial means to see the team turn things around after winning a franchise-low 15 games last season.
Taylor tells The Associated Press that the team’s low payroll does not reflect an order from him to cut costs. He says it’s a byproduct of having a young team with affordable contracts and wanting to remain flexible to add a star player through a trade.
The 69-year-old billionaire says he has no plans to sell the team and says he has reached the age where he wants to see this team become a winner “quickly.”
