WASHINGTON (AP) -The Washington Wizards signed free-agent forwards DerMarr Johnson, Linton Johnson and Taj McCullough on Monday, bringing the team’s training camp roster to 17.
The three will have “a chance to compete for a roster spot,” team president Ernie Grunfeld said.
DerMarr Johnson has played for the Hawks, Knicks, Nuggets and Spurs in seven NBA seasons, averaging 6.2 points and 2.2 rebounds. A first-round pick in the 2000 draft, he averaged 3.4 points in five games with San Antonio last season.
Linton Johnson has spent time with six NBA teams over five seasons, with averages of 4.1 points and 3.4 rebounds.
McCullough is a rookie out of Winthrop who played for the Wizards’ entry in the Las Vegas summer league.
The Wizards open training camp Saturday at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va.
