MIAMI (AP) -Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade is attending a mediation session that could settle lawsuits filed by former partners in off-the-court business ventures.
Wade arrived Wednesday morning at a downtown Miami law office for the talks. The ex-partners contend that Wade cost them millions of dollars by walking away from a chain of sports memorabilia restaurants and charter schools for kids at risk of dropping out.
Wade contends he had every right to end his involvement in both ventures.
On his Twitter account Wednesday, Wade wrote: “A day of handling business.”
The Heat said in a court filing that Wade could risk injury if he’s tied up with legal battles during the NBA season. Training camp opens later this month.
