DENVER (AP) -The Denver Nuggets signed guard Sonny Weems on Monday. Terms were not disclosed.
The Chicago Bulls selected Weems out of Arkansas in the second round of the 2008 NBA draft. He was traded to Denver for a 2009 second-round draft pick.
In July, Weems had surgery to repair a sports hernia. He was expected to fully recover in time for the start of training camp on Sept. 30.
Weems played five games for the Nuggets' Summer League team, averaging 9.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 22 minutes.
