CLEVELAND (AP) – LeBron James and Johnny Manziel have attended a private screening for a TV comedy series about a young basketball player’s climb to stardom.
James and Manziel watched the first two episodes of ”Survivor’s Remorse,” a series produced by Spring Hill Productions, which is owned by the NBA superstar and business partner Maverick Carter. And while the fictional story is not based on James’ life, the four-time MVP says he could relate to some scenes in the comedy, which will debut Oct. 4 on Starz.
Manziel, too, says he could identify with the lead character, whose meteoric rise is similar to the one the Browns’ rookie quarterback has experienced the past three years. Manziel says his sudden fame was at times overwhelming and the support of his family kept him grounded.
Carter and James intend to produce and film other projects in Northeast Ohio.
