MIAMI (AP) -Michael Beasley still has the full support of the Miami Heat.
Team president Pat Riley said Tuesday that the Heat are in daily contact with Beasley, the 20-year-old forward who entered rehabilitation and counseling at a Houston facility last month. Riley says Beasley is working out under the direction of team personnel.
Riley says he thinks the Heat are “going to get a great year out of Mike.”
Riley could not discuss specifics about the manner of treatment Beasley is receiving, citing privacy laws.
Beasley finished his rookie season as Miami’s second-leading scorer behind Dwyane Wade, averaging 13.9 points and 5.4 rebounds. Riley says Beasley will be with the team when it opens training camp later this month.
